As one artist of this genre to another; the form is good, but there's a bit much color for a piece this small. There are some great handpaints or spraypaints to make the clockhands the same color, or some rub-n-buff if that's your thing.

It's still a beautiful piece! I absolutely love it, and will be trying a similar design myself (albeit with keyhole covers) it's so good! That copper in the middle of 2 different antique golds just aren't right in my experience, and I've gotten some complaints myself.

Though if I may ask, are bar-clasp barrettes better for these types of pieces, or those bendy-attach ones? MY hair isn't really long enough, so I can't really test the weight load for them...

Thank you for your opinion, but I disagree with you about the color, and have no complaints. The copper colored clock hands are the same color as the two smaller gears, and the two larger clock hands are the same color as the background. It would be rather boring with nothing to break it up. I've sold quite a few, so people must like them.

I don't know what a bar-clasp barrette is, but these were great. I have thin fine hair, and it stays in great. I can't even feel that it's in my hair, but I don't know how heavy your planning to make your hair clip.

What you're using is the bar-clasp kind, and I guess I'm wondering more how easily it is to attach things vs the other kind. But then, I guess you've already answered that point.

Eh, guess it's just a difference in opinion kind of thing on the piece, but if it sells, it sells.
